He is extremely fast, able to travel 108,000 li (54,000 km, 34,000 mi) in one somersault. Sun Wukong also acquires the 72 Earthly Transformations, which allow him to access 72 unique powers, including the ability to transform into sundry animals and objects. He is a skilled fighter, capable of defeating the best warriors of heaven. His hair has magical properties, capable of making copies of himself or transforming into various weapons, animals and other things. He also shows partial weather manipulation skills and can stop people in place with fixing magic.
Biography:
Sun Wukong, also known as the Monkey King, is a central figure in the classic Chinese novel *Journey to the West*. Born from a stone egg atop a mountain, he quickly displays extraordinary abilities and ambition.
Seeking immortality and power, Sun Wukong masters various magical arts, learns 72 Transformations, and acquires the powerful Ruyi Jingu Bang (a magical staff). He then proclaims himself "Great Sage Equal to Heaven," challenging the authority of the Jade Emperor, ruler of the heavens.
After causing chaos in the heavenly realm, Sun Wukong is eventually subdued and imprisoned under a mountain. He is later freed by the monk Tang Sanzang to become his disciple and protector on a pilgrimage to the West to retrieve Buddhist scriptures.
Throughout *Journey to the West*, Sun Wukong's strength, wit, and rebellious spirit are tested as he battles demons and monsters, ultimately achieving enlightenment and Buddhahood alongside the other members of the pilgrimage.
