The Monkey King, also known as Sun Wukong, is a legendary figure originating from the classic Chinese novel *Journey to the West*. A powerful and mischievous simian born from a stone, he acquires immense strength, magical abilities, and immortality through Taoist practices.
His arrogance leads to rebellion against the Jade Emperor of Heaven, resulting in his imprisonment under a mountain. He is later freed by the monk Tang Sanzang to serve as his disciple and protector on a pilgrimage to retrieve Buddhist scriptures from the West.
While the Monkey King has countless interpretations across various media, one notable animated appearance is in the Cartoon _LEGO Monkie Kid_. In this version, he is a mentor figure to Monkie Kid (MK), passing on his legendary staff and powers to a new generation.
