Carnage is a supervillain appearing in Marvel Comics, first appearing in *The Amazing Spider-Man* #361 (1992) but not as Carnage until *The Amazing Spider-Man* #362.
Carnage is the offspring of the alien Symbiote known as Venom. When Venom's host, Eddie Brock, was incarcerated, the Symbiote bonded with Cletus Kasady, a psychopathic serial killer. This union created Carnage, an even more violent and unstable being.
The Symbiote grants Carnage enhanced strength, speed, and durability, as well as the ability to shape-shift and create bladed weapons. He represents pure chaos and destruction, lacking any moral compass, and posing a constant threat to Spider-Man and the Marvel Universe.
