Carnage is a supervillain appearing in Marvel Comics, primarily as an adversary of Spider-Man and Venom.
The Carnage symbiote is an offspring of the Venom symbiote. Its host is Cletus Kasady, a psychopathic serial killer. Kasady was Eddie Brock's (Venom's host) cellmate in prison.
When Venom broke Brock out of prison, the Carnage symbiote bonded with Kasady, creating a more powerful and deranged being than Venom. This bonding happened when the Venom symbiote left a spawn.
Carnage possesses enhanced strength, speed, and durability, as well as the ability to shapeshift his body into weapons and launch symbiotic tendrils. He is driven by chaotic and murderous impulses, making him a formidable and unpredictable threat.
His first appearance was in The Amazing Spider-Man #361 (1992), and he has since become a prominent villain in the Marvel Universe, known for his gruesome acts of violence and twisted ideology.
