Carnage is a fictional supervillain appearing in Marvel Comics, primarily associated with Spider-Man. The character is a sentient Symbiote, similar to Venom, but far more violent and ruthless.

Carnage's origin is tied to the Venom Symbiote. When Eddie Brock's Venom Symbiote reproduced while he was incarcerated with serial killer Cletus Kasady, the new symbiote bonded with Kasady, creating Carnage.

The character first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #361 (April 1992). Unlike Venom, which often operates with a twisted sense of justice, Carnage embraces chaos and destruction for its own sake, making him a far more dangerous and unpredictable foe.

Carnage has a long history as both a solo villain and as a part of various villainous teams. His powers include enhanced strength, speed, durability, and the ability to shape-shift and generate bladed weapons from his Symbiote.
