Biography:
King Vegeta is a pivotal, yet often unseen, figure in the Dragon Ball franchise. He is the Saiyan King during the era of Frieza's rule and the father of Vegeta.
He first appears in the manga chapter "The Galactic Emperor Frieza," which was adapted into the Dragon Ball Z TV show during the Frieza Saga. King Vegeta ruled over Planet Vegeta and the Saiyan race, though ultimately he was subjugated by Frieza.
Driven by pride and a desire to protect his people, King Vegeta attempted to overthrow Frieza but was brutally defeated. Frieza destroyed Planet Vegeta, resulting in the genocide of most Saiyans, including King Vegeta himself. His legacy and the humiliation he suffered under Frieza profoundly influenced his son, Vegeta.
