Vegeta is a prominent character in the Dragon Ball Z anime and manga series.
He first appeared in Dragon Ball Z episode 5, “Goku Is Dead,” (manga chapter #204, "Farewell, Son Goku"), as the Prince of the Saiyan race, a proud warrior race nearly destroyed by Frieza. Initially introduced as a ruthless antagonist seeking the Dragon Balls to gain immortality, Vegeta engaged in a fierce battle with Goku.
Over time, Vegeta's character evolved significantly. He settled on Earth, married Bulma, and had two children, Trunks and Bulla. Though rivals with Goku, Vegeta eventually became a reluctant ally, fighting alongside him to protect Earth from various threats. His relentless pursuit of surpassing Goku's power, fueled by his Saiyan pride, is a constant throughout the series.
