Thor is a character portrayed by Chris Hemsworth in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). This version of Thor is based on the Norse god of the same name.

Born on Asgard, Thor is the son of Odin, the Allfather, and Frigga. He is the God of Thunder and possesses immense strength, durability, and the ability to summon lightning. He wields the enchanted hammer Mjolnir (later Stormbreaker after Mjolnir's destruction), which allows him to control storms and fly.

Thor's first appearance in the MCU was in the 2011 movie *Thor*. In *Avengers: Infinity War*, Thor seeks to avenge the destruction of Asgard and the death of his brother, Loki, at the hands of Thanos. He forges Stormbreaker with the help of Eitri and ultimately confronts Thanos in Wakanda.
