Biography:

Thor Odinson, as portrayed in Marvel's Thor: The Dark World, is the Asgardian God of Thunder and son of Odin. He is the crown prince and heir to the throne of Asgard. Following the events of The Avengers, Thor returns to Asgard, restoring order to the Nine Realms.

Haunted by visions and concerned by his past relationship with Jane Foster, Thor soon finds himself facing a new threat: the Dark Elf Malekith, who seeks to plunge the universe into darkness using the Aether (Reality Stone). Thor is driven to protect Asgard and the Nine Realms.

To defeat Malekith, Thor reluctantly allies himself with his imprisoned brother, Loki. This alliance is forged out of necessity, as Loki possesses the knowledge necessary to navigate the Dark Elves' realm. He battles through a series of conflicts with Malekith to save his love and his realm.

Ultimately, Thor is responsible for defeating Malekith and preventing the destruction of the Nine Realms. In the wake of victory, he declines Odin's offer to take the throne, feeling unready for the responsibility. He prioritizes protecting the realms over leading them and wishes to spend time with Jane Foster.
