Biography:

Thor Odinson, a character featured in Marvel Comics, is loosely based on the Norse mythological figure of the same name. However, the Marvel version has a complex and altered backstory.

Instead of being solely the biological son of Odin, Allfather of Asgard, the Marvel Thor has a more surprising origin. At the end of a war between Asgard and Jotunheim (the land of the Frost Giants), Odin adopted the infant Loki, son of Laufey, King of the Frost Giants, seeking to broker peace and raise the child as his own.

This adoption had the unintentional consequence of making Thor, in essence, raised alongside a Frost Giant – his adopted brother, Loki. Thor grew up believing Loki was his biological brother and unaware of the true nature of his brother's biological father. He was raised as a prince of Asgard, trained as a warrior, and destined to inherit the throne.

Thor's journey involves learning humility, embracing responsibility, and proving himself worthy of wielding the enchanted hammer Mjolnir. He defends Earth and Asgard from numerous threats, often battling Loki and his schemes.
