Hydra Captain America, also known as Steve Rogers or the Civil Warrior Armor version from the Secret Empire storyline, represents a twisted and corrupted version of the iconic hero. This incarnation stems from Kobik, a sentient Cosmic Cube, altering Rogers' reality, rewriting his history and embedding him within Hydra from childhood.

This version of Captain America served as a sleeper agent for Hydra, secretly working towards their agenda while maintaining his public image as a symbol of freedom and justice. He strategically dismantled S.H.I.E.L.D., undermined the Avengers, and manipulated events to position Hydra for a global takeover.

During the "Secret Empire" event, he revealed his true allegiance, seizing control of the United States and establishing a totalitarian regime under Hydra's rule. His actions directly contradicted everything Captain America previously stood for, causing widespread outrage and a desperate resistance effort from other heroes. Eventually, he was defeated by the true Captain America, who was restored with the help of Kobik, ending his reign of terror and attempting to repair the damage he inflicted.
