Biography:
Norman Osborn, portrayed by Willem Dafoe, is the Green Goblin in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man (2002). He is introduced as the wealthy CEO of Oscorp, a major corporation, and a brilliant scientist. Norman seeks a military contract with Oscorp, hoping his experimental performance-enhancing serum will demonstrate the company's value.
Due to funding cuts and an impending government inspection, Norman impulsively tests the serum on himself. It grants him enhanced strength, speed, and agility but also drives him insane, creating a violent alter ego: the Green Goblin. As the Goblin, he dons a green armored suit and uses a glider equipped with various weapons to terrorize New York City.
The Goblin's actions bring him into conflict with Spider-Man, resulting in a destructive rivalry fueled by Norman's fractured psyche and his desire for power and control. He ultimately tries to kill Spider-Man, but is impaled by his own glider after the superhero dodges, ending his reign of terror.
