Dr. Pamela Isley, better known as Poison Ivy, debuted in Batman #181 (June 1966). Initially portrayed as a seductive botanist with toxic touch and control over plant life, Isley evolved into a more complex figure.

In the comics, a botany student, Pamela Isley is seduced by her professor and is injected with plant toxins. This transformed her into Poison Ivy, granting her chlorophyll-based powers, immunity to toxins, and the ability to control plant life.

Poison Ivy often uses her powers for eco-terrorism, seeking to protect plant life at any cost, often placing her at odds with Batman. However, she also exhibits moments of humanity, particularly in her relationships with Harley Quinn.
