Biography:

Benjamin "Ben" Grimm, born in , is better known as the Thing, a founding member of the Fantastic Four. His first appearance was in *Fantastic Four* # (November ).

Grimm, born in , was childhood friends with Reed Richards. He served as a test pilot before joining Richards, Sue Storm, and Johnny Storm on a fateful space mission. Exposure to cosmic rays transformed him into a creature with orange, rock-like skin and superhuman strength.

Though permanently changed, Grimm's gruff exterior hides a loyal and caring heart. He's often the heart and soul of the Fantastic Four, providing a grounded perspective amidst their fantastical adventures.
