Biography:

Supergirl, also known as Kara Zor-El, is a DC Comics superheroine and Superman's cousin. She debuted in *Action Comics* #252 (May 1959). Like Superman, she hails from the planet Krypton and possesses similar powers, including flight, super strength, and heat vision.

In many adaptations, Kara arrives on Earth later than Superman, having been sent in a rocket shortly before Krypton's destruction. Often, she's placed in suspended animation, delaying her arrival and allowing Superman to establish himself. She adopts the identity of Supergirl to protect her anonymity and fight alongside her cousin.

Supergirl's character has undergone several iterations, but she consistently embodies hope, resilience, and the struggle to find her place in a new world. She remains a prominent figure in the DC Universe.
