Biography:
The Hobgoblin, primarily known from Marvel Comics, is a supervillain adversary of Spider-Man. Several characters have adopted the Hobgoblin mantle, each with their own unique history and motivations.
The original Hobgoblin, Roderick Kingsley, first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #238 (March 1983). Kingsley was a wealthy fashion designer who used his criminal skills and technological enhancements to terrorize New York City and challenge Spider-Man.
Other notable Hobgoblins include Ned Leeds, a reporter who was brainwashed and manipulated into serving as a decoy Hobgoblin, and Jason Macendale, a mercenary who later bonded with a demonic entity to become the Demogoblin. These iterations have appeared across various Spider-Man comic book series and storylines.
