Biography:
Hobgoblin is a supervillain from Marvel Comics, primarily associated with Spider-Man. The first Hobgoblin was Roderick Kingsley, a wealthy fashion designer and criminal who sought to improve upon the Green Goblin's formula. He first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #238 (March 1983), though his identity remained a mystery for some time.
Kingsley gained enhanced strength, speed, and intelligence from the Goblin formula. He donned a modified Green Goblin suit and used an arsenal of pumpkin bombs, razor bats, and a Goblin Glider.
Kingsley eventually faked his death and framed Ned Leeds, a reporter for the Daily Bugle, as the Hobgoblin. Multiple other characters have taken up the mantle of Hobgoblin after Kingsley, sometimes with slightly different variations of the Goblin formula or technological enhancements to the suit.
