Blade is a Marvel Comics character, a vampire hunter dedicated to eradicating the undead. His first appearance was in Tomb of Dracula #10 (July 1973).
Born Eric Brooks in London, his mother, a prostitute, was attacked by the vampire Deacon Frost while pregnant. The attack imbued Eric with several vampiric abilities, including enhanced strength, speed, and a prolonged lifespan, while also leaving him immune to vampire bites.
Trained in martial arts and weapon usage from a young age, Blade has dedicated his life to hunting and destroying vampires. He wields a variety of weapons, often including a sword, and possesses a deep knowledge of vampire lore.
