Eric Brooks, more famously known as Blade, is a Marvel Comics character first appearing in Tomb of Dracula #10 (July 1973). He is a dhampir, a human born with vampire-like abilities. His mother was attacked by a vampire while pregnant, passing along unique enzymes to Eric.
Blade possesses enhanced strength, speed, agility, and senses. He is also immune to vampire bites and most forms of supernatural influence. He ages very slowly, giving him a significantly extended lifespan compared to ordinary humans.
