Blade, also known as The Night Hunter, is a Marvel Comics character created by writer Marv Wolfman and artist Gene Colan.
His first appearance was in The Tomb of Dracula #10 (July 1973).
Blade is a Dhampir, a being born of a human mother and a vampire father. This unique heritage grants him superhuman strength, speed, stamina, and senses, as well as immunity to complete vampirism. He is a master martial artist and weapons expert, specializing in edged weapons, particularly swords. His lifelong mission is to rid the world of vampires, driven by the death of his mother at the hands of one.
