Denji, known as Chainsaw Man, is the protagonist of the manga and anime series of the same name. He first appeared in the manga series Chainsaw Man, written and illustrated by Tatsuki Fujimoto, which began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in December 2018.

Denji is a young man who makes a contract with a Chainsaw Devil named Pochita, granting him the ability to transform into Chainsaw Man by pulling a cord on his chest. This transformation gives him chainsaws protruding from his head and arms, which he uses to fight Devils.

Initially driven by basic needs and simple desires, Denji joins Public Safety Devil Hunters, where he confronts increasingly dangerous Devils. As the series progresses, he grapples with his identity and the implications of his dual existence as a human and a Devil.
