Harry Osborn, portrayed by Dane DeHaan, appears as the Green Goblin in the film The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014). Although the Green Goblin persona first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #14, the film version of the character takes a distinct path.
Harry, the childhood friend of Peter Parker, returns to New York City upon learning of his terminal illness. He believes that Spider-Man's blood can cure him.
Refused a blood transfusion by Spider-Man who fears it would be dangerous, Harry, driven by desperation and anger, injects himself with a formula derived from Oscorp's spider venom. This unstable formula transforms him into a grotesque, goblin-like creature with enhanced strength and agility but also leads to further mental instability.
As the Green Goblin, Harry blames Spider-Man for his condition and seeks revenge, leading to a destructive confrontation and the tragic death of Gwen Stacy.
