Erik Stevens, known as Killmonger, is a character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). He first appears in the film Black Panther (2018).
Born N'Jadaka, he is the son of Prince N'Jobu, brother to T'Chaka. N'Jobu was stationed as a War Dog in America but grew disillusioned and planned to use Wakandan technology to empower oppressed people worldwide. After N'Jobu's death at the hands of his brother, T'Chaka, Erik was left orphaned in Oakland, California.
Fueled by resentment for Wakanda's isolationism and his father's fate, Erik became a highly skilled black ops soldier. He adopted the name Killmonger and plotted to usurp the Wakandan throne from T'Challa. His motivations are rooted in a desire to use Wakanda's resources to liberate people of African descent globally, by any means necessary.
