Golden Freddy, appearing first in the game *Five Nights at Freddy's* (FNAF), is a mysterious animatronic bear. He is a golden recolor of Freddy Fazbear, but with notable differences.

Unlike the other animatronics, Golden Freddy does not follow a set movement pattern. He appears as a hallucination in the player's office after a specific sequence of events, often accompanied by a child's laughter.

When Golden Freddy appears, he slumps limply in a seated position. If the player does not react quickly enough, Golden Freddy will jumpscare the player, crashing the game in the first FNAF.

The exact nature and origin of Golden Freddy are left ambiguous in the earlier games, fueling much fan speculation. He is often theorized to be connected to traumatic events within the lore.
