Nightmare Freddy, often referred to simply as Nightmare, is a prominent antagonist within the Five Nights at Freddy's (FNAF) franchise.

He first appears in Five Nights at Freddy's 4. Nightmare is a nightmarish version of Freddy Fazbear, twisted and exaggerated with sharp claws, teeth, and a translucent, almost skeletal appearance.

He is one of the most aggressive animatronics in the game, appearing only on Night 7 and Nightmare Mode, and is instantly lethal if he reaches the player. Nightmare's design heavily implies he is a manifestation of the protagonist's fear, potentially stemming from traumatic experiences.
