Matt Murdock, also known as Daredevil, is a central character in the Marvel/Netflix series Daredevil. This version, often referred to as the "Man in Black" early on, is a vigilante operating in Hell's Kitchen, New York City. He is portrayed by actor Charlie Cox.
Blind since childhood due to a chemical accident, Murdock developed heightened senses, essentially granting him superhuman abilities. He uses these abilities to fight crime both as a lawyer during the day and as a masked vigilante at night.
The Netflix Daredevil series premiered in 2015. The "Man in Black" costume was the character's initial vigilante outfit before he later adopted the iconic red Daredevil suit. S3 Daredevil faced the fallout from his past and struggles with his identity.
