Biography:
Hellboy is a fictional character created by Mike Mignola, debuting in Hellboy: Seed of Destruction #1 (March 1994) published by Dark Horse Comics. His real name is Anung Un Rama. Summoned to Earth as an infant by Nazi occultists during World War II, he was intercepted by Professor Trevor Bruttenholm and raised as a force for good.
Growing into a large, red-skinned adult with a tail, horns (which he files down), and an oversized right hand made of stone (the Right Hand of Doom), Hellboy becomes a paranormal investigator and agent for the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense (BPRD).
Hellboy grapples with his demonic origins and his destiny to usher in the apocalypse. Despite his lineage, he chooses to fight on the side of humanity, battling supernatural threats and confronting his own inner demons.
