Biography:
Hellboy, created by Mike Mignola, first appeared in *Next Men #21* in 1993 as a promotional insert before getting his own title, *Hellboy: Seed of Destruction* in 1994 from Dark Horse Comics.
Born as Anung Un Rama in the depths of Hell, he was summoned to Earth as an infant by Nazi occultists during World War II. Instead of falling into their hands, he was discovered by Professor Trevor Bruttenholm and raised as a member of the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense (BPRD).
Hellboy is a large, red-skinned humanoid with a tail, horns (which he files down), and an oversized right hand made of stone, known as the Right Hand of Doom. Destined to bring about the end of the world, he instead chooses to fight against his fate and protect humanity from supernatural threats. His missions involve battling monsters, demons, and ancient gods.
