Godspeed, whose real name is August Heart, is a supervillain from DC Comics, primarily associated with the Flash. He first appeared in *The Flash: Rebirth* #1 (June 2016) as part of the DC Rebirth relaunch.
August Heart was a detective with the Central City Police Department and a colleague of Barry Allen (the Flash). Both were struck by lightning during a Speed Force storm, granting them super-speed abilities. Heart, however, was driven by a desire for justice and a thirst for more power.
He became the vigilante Godspeed, distinguished by his white lightning and costume. Godspeed believed that lethal force was sometimes necessary to stop criminals, putting him at odds with the Flash's more heroic approach. He often moved at speeds faster than the Flash, posing a significant threat to Central City and The Flash himself.
