Anakin Skywalker first appears in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace as a young slave on Tatooine.

Possessing immense Force potential, he is freed by Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and taken to Coruscant to be trained as a Jedi. The Jedi Council, wary of his age and the fear he embodies, reluctantly accepts him under the tutelage of Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Across the prequel trilogy, Anakin matures into a powerful Jedi Knight, skilled in combat but also plagued by inner turmoil. His growing attachment to Padmé Amidala, forbidden by the Jedi Order, fuels his fear of loss.

In Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, manipulated by Supreme Chancellor Palpatine (Darth Sidious), Anakin succumbs to the dark side of the Force. His desperation to save Padmé, combined with Palpatine's influence and the Jedi Order's perceived betrayal, leads him to embrace the Sith identity of Darth Vader. In a climactic duel with Obi-Wan, he is severely wounded and left for dead.
