Anakin Skywalker is a central character in the Star Wars saga, first appearing in *Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace*. He is a prodigious young boy discovered on Tatooine with an exceptionally high midi-chlorian count, indicating immense potential with the Force.
Anakin is brought to the Jedi Order for training, where he struggles with the Jedi's emotional detachment. His relationships, particularly with Padmé Amidala, are forbidden by the Jedi Code. He secretly marries Padmé and becomes fearful of her death in childbirth.
Manipulated by Darth Sidious, Anakin succumbs to the dark side of the Force and becomes Darth Vader. As Vader, he serves the Galactic Empire, hunting down Jedi and enforcing the Emperor's will. Vader eventually confronts his son, Luke Skywalker, who redeems him. Anakin returns to the light side, fulfilling his destiny to bring balance to the Force by destroying Darth Sidious, but dying in the process.
