Raymond "Ray" Palmer, portrayed by Brandon Routh, is the Atom in The CW's "Arrowverse" television shows. He is a brilliant scientist and inventor who develops the A.T.O.M. Exosuit, allowing him to shrink to subatomic size.

Ray initially appears in the third season of *Arrow* (first episode: "Canaries") as the new owner of Queen Consolidated, renaming it Palmer Technologies. He seeks to revolutionize technology and protect Starling City (later Star City) with his shrinking suit.

Beyond *Arrow*, Ray Palmer also becomes a key member of the *Legends of Tomorrow* team, using his suit's capabilities on various time-traveling adventures. He is portrayed as optimistic and sometimes socially awkward, providing both technological expertise and comic relief to the team. He eventually leaves the Legends to pursue his relationship with Nora Darhk, and later marries her.
