Raymond "Ray" Palmer, also known as Atom, is a fictional character from the Arrowverse, primarily appearing in The CW's Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow. He is portrayed by Brandon Routh.
Ray Palmer is a brilliant scientist, inventor, and businessman who develops a powerful exosuit allowing him to shrink to subatomic levels. Introduced as the CEO of Palmer Technologies (formerly Queen Consolidated) in Starling City, Ray initially aims to use his technology to protect the city. He becomes a member of Team Arrow for a time, fighting crime alongside Oliver Queen.
Later, Ray joins the Legends of Tomorrow, traveling through time to combat various threats to the timeline. He is known for his optimistic personality and unwavering belief in the good of humanity, often providing a lighthearted contrast to the darker members of the team. His first appearance was in the Arrow TV show.
