Luke Cage is a fictional character portrayed in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Netflix television series. He first appeared in "Jessica Jones" (TV Show) before headlining his own series, "Luke Cage."
Born Carl Lucas, he was wrongly convicted and imprisoned. While incarcerated, he volunteered for an experiment aimed at enhancing the human immune system. The experiment was sabotaged, granting Lucas superhuman strength and unbreakable skin. He escaped prison and adopted the name Luke Cage.
In Harlem, Cage sought a quiet life but found himself compelled to defend the community from various threats, including crime boss Cornell "Cottonmouth" Stokes. He grapples with his past, his newfound abilities, and the responsibility of being a symbol for the people of Harlem.
