Power Man, also known as Luke Cage, is a Marvel Comics character with superhuman strength and durability. He first appeared in Hero for Hire #1 (June 1972).
In the animated series Ultimate Spider-Man, set on Earth, Power Man is a teenage hero and member of Spider-Man's team. This version of Luke Cage gains his powers through an experiment gone wrong, granting him enhanced strength and near invulnerability.
As Power Man, he works alongside Spider-Man, White Tiger, Iron Fist, and Nova, learning to control his powers and work as a team. His portrayal in the cartoon is as a powerful but sometimes impulsive character who strives to be a great hero.
