Biography:
Luke Cage, also known as Power Man, is a fictional superhero appearing in Marvel Comics. Born Carl Lucas in Harlem, New York, his life took a dramatic turn after being wrongly convicted of a crime.
While incarcerated, Lucas volunteered for an experimental medical procedure conducted by Dr. Noah Burstein, aimed at accelerating cellular regeneration. The experiment was sabotaged by a racist prison guard, resulting in Lucas gaining superhuman strength and near-impenetrable skin.
Escaping prison, Lucas adopted the name Luke Cage and became a hero for hire, offering his services to those who couldn't afford traditional superheroes. He often worked alongside Iron Fist as part of the Heroes for Hire team.
Cage eventually moved away from the "hero for hire" business, embracing his role as a dedicated hero and community figure. He has been a member of several prominent superhero teams, including the Avengers and the New Avengers, and is married to Jessica Jones, with whom he has a daughter.
