Drax the Destroyer is a character portrayed in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) as a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy. He first appears in the 2014 film, Guardians of the Galaxy.
Originally, Drax was a family man whose life was shattered when Ronan the Accuser, under the orders of Thanos, murdered his wife and daughter. Driven by a burning desire for vengeance, Drax became a powerful warrior dedicated to eradicating Thanos and all those who served him.
In the Guardians of the Galaxy, Drax's literal interpretation of metaphors and generally poor social skills often provide comic relief. Despite his comedic moments, he remains a fierce and loyal companion, providing brute strength and combat prowess to the team.
While initially focused solely on revenge, Drax gradually finds a new family among the Guardians, developing strong bonds with his teammates and learning to move beyond his past trauma.
