Biography:
Luke Cage, as portrayed in the Netflix Marvel television series, is a former police officer named Carl Lucas who was wrongly convicted and imprisoned.
While incarcerated, he volunteered for an experimental procedure designed to accelerate healing. The experiment was sabotaged, granting him superhuman strength and unbreakable skin.
Adopting the name Luke Cage, he escapes prison and seeks to rebuild his life in Harlem. He initially wants to remain anonymous, but is drawn into using his powers to protect his community from crime and corruption.
The Netflix version of Luke Cage first appeared in the TV Show *Jessica Jones* before starring in his own self-titled series, *Luke Cage*.
