Arthur Curry, also known as Aquaman, is a prominent superhero in the DC Universe and King of Atlantis. He's typically recognized as the original Aquaman that was based on the Norse God Njord.
Born to Atlanna, the Queen of Atlantis, and Tom Curry, a lighthouse keeper, Arthur possesses unique abilities. These include superhuman strength, durability, the power to control the oceans, and telepathic communication with marine life.
Aquaman fiercely protects both the surface world and his underwater kingdom. He often finds himself mediating conflicts between the two realms and battling threats to either. His rogues gallery includes his half-brother, Orm (Ocean Master), and the vengeful Black Manta.
