Ultraman Tiga is a prominent character in the long-running Japanese Tokusatsu franchise, Ultraman. He first appeared in the TV show Ultraman Tiga, which aired in 1996.
Unlike previous Ultramen, who were traditionally associated with the Land of Light in Nebula M78, Ultraman Tiga's origins are rooted in Earth's ancient past. He was one of the ancient giants of light who fought against darkness.
The show's protagonist, Daigo Madoka, is able to transform into Ultraman Tiga using the Spark Lens. Tiga has the unique ability to change between three different forms, each suited for different combat situations: Multi Type, Power Type, and Sky Type.
Ultraman Tiga's popularity revitalized the Ultraman series, leading to numerous sequels and spin-offs within the franchise.
