Luke Cage, portrayed by Mike Colter, is a central character in the Netflix corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). He first appears in the TV Show Jessica Jones before headlining his own series, Luke Cage.
Carl Lucas was wrongly convicted and incarcerated at Seagate Prison. While imprisoned, he was subjected to an experiment by Dr. Noah Burstein which granted him superhuman strength and unbreakable skin. He escapes and assumes the alias Luke Cage.
In Harlem, he becomes a reluctant hero, fighting crime and corruption while trying to keep a low profile. Cage grapples with his past and struggles to accept his role as a protector of his community.
