Darth Nihilus is a Sith Lord from the Star Wars Expanded Universe, first appearing in the video game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II – The Sith Lords (2004).
Before becoming Darth Nihilus, he was a soldier who survived the devastating destruction of Malachor V during the Mandalorian Wars. The event left him without connection to the Force, creating an insatiable hunger for it.
Drawn to the Dark Side by Darth Traya, he embraced his hunger, becoming a wound in the Force, and taking the name Darth Nihilus. He encased his spirit within his mask and robes, becoming a being of pure Dark Side energy. He possessed the power to drain the life force from entire planets, consuming everything to satisfy his endless need.
Darth Nihilus, alongside Darth Traya and Darth Sion, formed a Sith Triumvirate. His reign of terror ended when he was defeated above Telos IV by the Jedi Exile and her companions, his essence being scattered.
