Adrian Toomes, known as the Vulture, is a Marvel Comics supervillain, primarily an enemy of Spider-Man.
The Vulture first appeared in *The Amazing Spider-Man* #2 (May 1963). He is depicted as an elderly man who uses a special harness of his own design to fly and enhance his strength. The harness also grants him a degree of longevity.
Toomes is typically portrayed as a bitter and resentful former electrical engineer and business partner who seeks revenge on those he believes have wronged him. Over the years, other characters have also adopted the Vulture mantle, but Adrian Toomes remains the most well-known.
