Gwenpool, also known as Gwendolyn Poole, is a Marvel Comic character from the Modern Age.
She first appeared in Howard the Duck Vol 6 #1 (Variant Cover) in November of 2015.
Originating from what she calls the "real world," Gwenpool is aware that she is in a comic book and uses this knowledge to her advantage. This metafictional awareness grants her abilities such as breaking the fourth wall and manipulating comic book tropes.
Despite her sometimes goofy and comedic persona, Gwenpool is a skilled fighter and strategist. Her knowledge of comic book storytelling allows her to anticipate events and alter the narrative to her benefit.
