Gwenpool, also known as Gwendolyn Poole, is a comic character from Marvel's Modern Age. She is unique in that she originated from outside the Marvel Universe, specifically from a reality where Marvel Comics are a real-world publication.

Unlike alternate-reality versions of Gwen Stacy who become Spider-Gwen or other heroes, Gwenpool is a dedicated comic book reader. She possesses a meta-awareness of comic book tropes and narrative conventions. This knowledge allows her to manipulate the comic book world to some extent, often breaking the fourth wall.

Gwenpool's first appearance was in Howard the Duck Vol. 6 #1 (November, ) as a variant cover character. She gained popularity and was then featured in her own solo series, The Unbelievable Gwenpool.

Her abilities stem from her understanding of comic book storytelling. She's a skilled combatant, often using her knowledge of predictable character actions to her advantage. Due to her unusual origin, her place in the Marvel Universe is often questioned by other characters and herself.
