Rick Grimes is the protagonist of the AMC television series The Walking Dead, first appearing in the episode "Days Gone Bye" (2010). He is portrayed by actor Andrew Lincoln.
Prior to the zombie apocalypse, Rick Grimes was a sheriff's deputy in a small Georgia town. He awakens from a coma to find the world overrun by the undead, referred to as "walkers."
