The Walking Dead

Rick Grimes is the protagonist of the television series The Walking Dead, first appearing in the episode "Days Gone Bye" (2010). He is portrayed by actor Andrew Lincoln.

Prior to the zombie apocalypse, Rick was a sheriff's deputy in a small Georgia town. During a shootout, he was critically wounded and fell into a coma. Upon awakening, he discovers a world overrun by the undead, referred to as "walkers."

Driven by a strong sense of morality and a desire to protect his family, Rick becomes the de facto leader of a group of survivors. Throughout the series, he grapples with the challenges of maintaining his humanity in a brutal, post-apocalyptic world. He makes difficult choices, balancing the need for survival with his personal code of ethics. His character arc shows a shift from a principled lawman to a hardened leader, and father.
