The Walking Dead

Rick Grimes, portrayed by Andrew Lincoln, is the central protagonist of the television series The Walking Dead. He first appears in the series' premiere episode, "Days Gone Bye".

Prior to the zombie apocalypse, Rick served as a sheriff's deputy in a small Georgia town. While on duty, Rick is shot and falls into a coma. Upon awakening, he discovers a world overrun by the undead, commonly referred to as walkers.

Driven by a fierce determination to protect his family, particularly his wife Lori and son Carl, Rick emerges as a natural leader. He is a man of strong moral convictions, constantly wrestling with the ethical dilemmas presented by the brutal new reality. Throughout the series, Rick battles both external threats (walkers, hostile survivors) and internal conflicts as he attempts to maintain humanity in a world that often seems devoid of it.

Rick's leadership style evolves throughout the series, from a trusting and idealistic figure to a hardened and pragmatic survivor. He is willing to do whatever it takes to ensure the safety of his group, even if it means crossing moral lines.
