Oliver Queen, portrayed by Stephen Amell, is the central character of The CW's "Arrow," a TV show set within the Arrowverse. He is a billionaire playboy who, after being presumed dead for five years following a shipwreck, returns to Starling City (later Star City) a changed man.
During his time away, he was stranded on the Lian Yu island and in other locations, learning survival skills, martial arts, and becoming proficient with a bow and arrow. Upon his return, he adopts the persona of "The Hood," a vigilante fighting crime and corruption in his city. He later becomes known as the "Arrow" and ultimately the "Green Arrow".
His first appearance in live action was in the Arrow TV series, which premiered on October 10, 2012, and he becomes the focal point for other interconnected shows within the Arrowverse.
