Obi-Wan "Ben" Kenobi, a pivotal character from the Star Wars Original Trilogy, first appears as an older, wiser figure in *Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope* (1977).

Having lived in exile on Tatooine for nearly two decades, Obi-Wan is portrayed as a former Jedi Master who guides Luke Skywalker on his journey to becoming a Jedi Knight.
